About How

今天在看电视时看到了这一句话,就决定把它写下来。

如果你发现自己一辈子在追求的东西其实是最不重要的,你会怎么办?

About the Class that does not speak

Yesterday’s lecture must be the most “please just kill me” kind.

The lecture pace was slow, the lecturer speaks so slowly and softly that it becomes inaudible at times, the lecture topic was something i didn’t like, the LT was stuffy, the lecturer keeps pausing to ask questions which no one bother to answer…. so much so that 3 hours seemed like eternity.

I bet E’s friend who crashed the lecture to see how uni life is would develop a phobia for lectures.

[lectuerer]: which chamber of the heart pumps blood to the aorta?

*pause*

*LT silence*

*lecturer waiting*

*students waiting*

[me]: frontal lobe.

OK… NOT funny. I doubt the lecture heard that.

About Laptop Brands

I was browsing through a forum when i saw one particular thread discussing laptop brands. One of them was asking for suggestions as to which laptop brand(s) she should avoid getting. The replies were something like this.

[Reply 1]: Fujitsu, sony, samsung. They are overpriced.
[Reply 2]: IBM is overpriced too.
[Reply 7]: Don’t get acer and asus… taiwan brands.
[Reply 9]: Dell… poor post-sales support.
[Reply 10]: NEC also not good.
[Reply 15]: Twinhead also cannot touch.
[Reply 18]: like that all the brands also avoid.. no need to buy laptop already lah!
….

Seems like the only brands that were not mentioned are HP/Compaq and iMac.

And yeah, if you listened to everyone, you really don’t have to get a laptop already.

By the way, i should be getting Acer TM 3282. Is this ok?

About Teaching Assistants

One way to determine if the TA (teaching assistant) can teach is probably see the number of students present in the tutorial room. Almost 2 years into uni, i can safely say this works pretty well.

Now a normal tutorial has about 24-25 students in a class. But the tutorial i attended today possibly had the largest group of crashers ever in a tutorial. The seminar room sits about 60-70 people and the whole room was filled to the brim. When the TA stepped into the class, he raised his eyebrow a little when he saw the crowd. “Oh…”

He gave out some notes and said “I printed 80 copies for this morning’s tutorial and this tutorial, thinking that it would be well enough. (pause) But i didn’t expect you all to grow like rabbits.”

Now, we are compared to rabbits?

Then one crasher friend told me that “yesterday’s class had only 4 people.” Yeah.. i went to that class for the first tutorial and have never returned since.

About Milo Truck

One thing that can possibly brighten up my day in school is spotting the green milo truck. 3 possible hideouts for the milo truck are (in order of frequency): central forum, science and engin where bazaars are held. So normally when there are bazaars, milo trucks can be found in the vicinity.

Today I spotted one at engin and happily went to help myself to the free milo. Something I have noticed was this sign that says “For hygiene purpose (in font sign 12), milo will only be served in the milo cups (font size 30)”. I wonder why they have to arrange the words this way. But i think they should change the word “hygiene purpose” to “financial reason” instead.

Overheard two guys talking.

[guy 1]: How many cups have you drank?
[guy 2]: 3rd cup now.
[guy 1]: What’s the maximum number of cups you’ve drank?
[guy 2]: 10 (!!!!!!)
[guy 2]: and i LS after that.
[guy 1]: hahaa.. i was about to ask if you LS after that.

I had two cups of the milo and was about to leave when i saw the cleaner auntie da-bao milo in her plastic container. Power!

About Age and Freedom

On the bus home the other day, there were a group of JC 1 students (presumbly since they were wearing their secondary school uniforms) chatting loudly on the bus.

[girl 1]: I can’t wait to go clubbing.
[girl 2]: yaya, i just want too go try out clubbing as well.

These people at the age of 16-17 are all enthusiastic and looking forward to breaking the 18 year old barrier to enter clubs. Like how some fellow friends are all too eager to break the 21 age to be allowed into the threaters for some cowboy romance movie which is deemed unsuitable for anyone under 21.

But once you are passed that age, you think there is nothing great actually. What is so fun about clubbing anyway?
