About Not-Contactable

Sometimes i wish i can stick up a sign to indicate i do not wish to be contactable. What’s with all the flooding smses, calls, e-mails, msn messengers that none i feel like replying to? We should all go back to the days when we are only contactable via home numbers, and on the day you feel tired, you can just hang it up and no one gets you.

About My Itchy Fingers

I went to set up outlook express to receive my school e-mails. Now i find all my e-mails being downloaded onto my computer, and no longer found in my web access e-mail account inbox. How can I transfer them back to the web access account again?

About Familiar Faces

Once in a while i spot familiar faces on television programmes, be it ex-classmates, friends or other acquaintances. Today i spotted the sister of a close primary school friend whom i’ve re-met again in uni on a tv show. First, i thought how come she looks familar and second, i wondered why her mother looks familar. Her surname finally confirmed it and i remembered that friend has a sister with the same name and age.

So it has been a long time (about 9 years plus) since i have seen her and she has grown up so much. (Okay, i did grow up alot during this period as well.) Just hope she advances well into the competition. =)

Earlier, I was at mac buying an ice cream. I got my ice cream and the cashier said his normal “Thank you and have a nice day.” I picked up my ice cream and left.. and he continued “Enjoy youuuuurrrrrrr….dessert”. Then i was already a few steps from the main entrance.

He must have watched too much of his “Orcccccccccchhhhard” tv advert!

About Mailing list

I am on quite a number of mailing lists (yahoogroup msn groups likes) for my different association groups.

Over the past few days i received quite a few of those “DO NOT DELETE”, “they are going to delete your hotmail account if you don’t forward this mail” type of mails circulated in the same yahoogroup. Person A sends out the first mail to the yahoogroup. Person B, from the yahoogroup receives the mail from Person A, gullibly thinks his e-mail is going to be deleted if he doesn’t forward the mail and so sends out to the mail to the said yahoogroup address again. This goes on…. and now i receive multiple copies. Arg… Spam!

Was so tempted to reply the mails to “thank” them for helping me keep my hotmail account… but decided against since they are still young… note that young here is a relative word.

About the New Toy

The other day while doing my lab report, i decided i should get myself a mp3 player. I don’t know where that idea came from because all sorts of weird ideas always come when my mind should be busy. So now i have a new toy.

About Laptop Brands

I was browsing through a forum when i saw one particular thread discussing laptop brands. One of them was asking for suggestions as to which laptop brand(s) she should avoid getting. The replies were something like this.

[Reply 1]: Fujitsu, sony, samsung. They are overpriced.
[Reply 2]: IBM is overpriced too.
[Reply 7]: Don’t get acer and asus… taiwan brands.
[Reply 9]: Dell… poor post-sales support.
[Reply 10]: NEC also not good.
[Reply 15]: Twinhead also cannot touch.
[Reply 18]: like that all the brands also avoid.. no need to buy laptop already lah!
….

Seems like the only brands that were not mentioned are HP/Compaq and iMac.

And yeah, if you listened to everyone, you really don’t have to get a laptop already.

By the way, i should be getting Acer TM 3282. Is this ok?

About The Wireless Connection

I think this whole broadband wireless thing is wearing my patience thin. The wireless still can’t work despite calling the technician person for hours and changing all possible configurations.

Oh and i think they are pretty amused by what i say.

[Me]: I am having problem with my wirless connection. It breaks rather frequently. *pause* And i mean about 5-6 times an hour. Surely this is not normal right?
[Techician]: Yah.

[Technician]: How far is your laptop away from your modem?
[me]: Erm.. about 10cm. That’s not too far right?
[Technician]: *Laughs*… Yar.

[Technician]:Restart your laptop.
[Me]: Ok, hold on.
[Technician]: Is the internet connecting?
[Me]: Window’s still starting up.
[Technician]: Does it take so long to start up all the time?
[Me]: No.. only when it’s at home.
[Technician]: *laugh* only at home?
[Me]: Yah.

After countless restarting and “Limited and no connectivity”,

[Me]: Oh, the wireless light mysteriously turned on.
[Technician]: It mysteriously turned on?
[Me]: Yah.

About The Overly Snoozed Alarm

Yesterday i slept from 12 midnight to 2.30am, woke up to study for the test till around 4+am. Open book test means just need to get familiar with what’s in the notes right? So i set the alarm clock at 6.40am.

The alarm rang at 6.40am, i snoozed it.

Then it rang again at 6.49am again. I snoozed it again.

Then the above repeated and the next time it rang again was 7.07am. Ok, missed the train already. It rang again at 7.35am. Ok, going to be late for lecture, so no point going. Proceed to set the alarm to 9.00am.

At 9.00am, i continued to snooze the alarm till at 9.40am, i decided i should just wake up.

Horribly, the alarm was still in the snooze mode. I wonder who invented the wonderful snooze function.
